Franklin Hampshire Regional Employment Board, a Career Pathways for Youth (Summer Jobs & Beyond) grantee from Greenfield, Massachusetts, shares some of their Employer Engagement Resources.

These tools encourage employers to assist young people with having a success summer work, and year around, experience.

  • “Say Yes to Youth” is a form developed by the Franklin Hampshire Regional Employment Board to gather information about ways local employers are interested in supporting youth career development.
  • The FHREB Job Shadow Guide is developed for use in schools throughout our region and seeks to provide information on giving students a meaningful introduction to the world of work and provides a context for understanding the connection between school learning and career application.
  • The Massachusetts Work-Based Learning Plan (WBLP) is designed to provide structure and depth to work-based learning experiences: to identify the skills to be focused on in the work experience; to open conversations about learning opportunities; to provide a structured approach to skill assessment; and to encourage reflection about short-term and long-term goals. The Work-Based Learning Plan includes a job description, list of skills, and reviews.
  • Massachusetts Work-Based Learning Plan Matrix accompanies the Massachusetts plan and outlines procedures for establishing the plan and guidelines for assessment of skill gains.
